What are Immersive Development Journeys (IDJs)?
Immersive Development Journeys (IDJs) simulate real-world complexity in safe but stretching environments.
Think: leadership offsite meets immersive theatre—crafted to provoke insight, shift behaviour, and transform team dynamics from the inside out.
Each IDJ is designed to:
- Cultivate leadership agility and embodied presence
- Strengthen trust, communication, and collaboration under pressure
- Build emotional intelligence and systemic awareness
- Shift team culture through shared, unforgettable experience

IDJs: How Do They Work?

Rooted in Kolb’s Experiential Learning Cycle, IDJs emphasise learning through doing, giving participants space to:
- Test new behaviours
- Receive in-the-moment feedback
- Learn through direct experience
An IDJ involves two cycles through the experiential learning process: beginning with an Immersive Learning Cycle, where participants design and test experiments in a safe learning environment with peers, followed by an Action Learning Cycle. Here, participants apply new approaches back at work, before reconvening in small peer learning groups to reflect, assess progress and sustain peer coaching.
